6 ways to change biz in a box content packs blog header

Biz in a box style DFY content packages are a popular option for bloggers and content creators who want to have everything done in one coordinating package. These packages usually include everything from products to graphics and even sales pages and download pages. And they often sell for fairly low prices. It might seem like the perfect thing to use to create products and market them, but the truth is that purchasing a ‘biz in a box’ package can be a bit of a double-edged sword.

On the one hand, you receive many different components and quite a bit of written content that you can use and sell as your own.

On the other hand, you’ll need to set it all up and also rebrand the product so that it looks NOTHING like the original DFY content you purchased.

The good news is that it can be done. And if you take the time to set this up as a system, you can have your DFY Content up and ready to generate income for you with a minimum of fuss.

Here are 6 things you should do to make these “biz in a box” packages your own.

1. Rename the product

This is the very minimum you should be doing with any DFY content you buy – not just the “biz in a box” packages. Create a name that’s catchy and interesting, but still gets the point across and gives you some keyword juice in the search engines.

One way to get an idea for a new title is by looking at the titles of similar books on the Amazon marketplace. Find the books that sell well and model (but don’t copy) your title after them.

You can also use ChatGPT or another AI writer of your choice to ask for title suggestions.

2. Redo the graphics

Another “must do” for using DFY Content and making it work for you is to re-do the graphics. Most “biz in a box” packages come with all kinds of sales graphics. They’re the first thing I toss when unzipping the folder because using the graphics that come with a product is a sure giveaway that you’re using DFY content.

You can do the graphics yourself or hire someone to do them for you. Good content sellers will include the PSD files that you can use as a starting point, and that will at least give you the dimensions you need for your social media posts, affiliate tools and sales page graphics.

These days a lot of people are also using Midjourney to create their own graphics using AI so that they’re assured they are getting unique graphics that they don’t have to worry about using.

3. Rework the product

Don’t freak out on me now! You don’t have to completely rewrite the product, but you do have to add your voice and your own insights at the very minimum to make it yours. I’ll be talking about this in more detail in future posts, but for now just know that you don’t have to completely rewrite a product to make it yours.

4. Rewrite the sales copy

Most “biz in a box” packs also come with a sales page that you can use, but again, you really don’t want to use the “out of the box” copy as that’s another giveaway that you’re using DFY content to create your products.

At the very minimum you’ll want to rewrite the headlines to start with. They’re the most visible part of your copy and changing them is a big step in the rebranding process.

You’ll also need to change the actual copy at least a little. How much will depend on how much you change the original product to fit your own style and vision. You don’t want there to be a mismatch in voice between the content in the product and the copy on the sales page.

5. Repeat the process with the Opt-in Offer

Again, most high-quality “biz in a box” packs will include a lead generation report and an opt-in page that you can use to drive traffic and start your funnel. A lot of them will also include an autoresponder series that you can use to nurture your leads and that should also be edited to sound more like you than the original writer.

Or, you can use a completely different part of the package as your opt-in offer, and turn the lead magnet that’s included into a separate paying product.

6. Buy a domain for the product

This may or may not be optional if you already have a domain where you host your content and products. Some people advocate buying a domain for every product your put out and then pointing those domains back to your shopping cart if you have one.

Other people say you should have a completely new and separate domain for each product with its own sales funnel and checkout.

My personal preference is to have a “hub site” as a main site and host all my products and sales pages on the same site. Whether that’s the right choice or not, only time and testing will tell.

Final Thoughts

That’s the quick version of how to change up a DFY content package to make it yours. Of course, what you do also depends on what it included in the package to begin with. Some sellers also include audio and video files in the main package, and others offer those formats as an upgraded package.

But once you have the basic changes made, everything else is the tech work of setting up your sales, download, and other pages so that you can drive traffic and make sales.
